**Accounting Manager**

**Reports To**: Controller

**Location**: Vancouver Clinic, with possibility of some hybrid remote work

**Work Schedule: Monday - Friday**
- 8 hours per day/40 hours per week

**Overview**:

- Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose, and Commitment of Olive Fertility Centre:_

Together with the Controller and various department heads, the Accounting Manager supports the financial strategy and health of the business. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting matters, as well as programs and projects that arise, and for keeping the Controller apprised of key updates, escalating highly complex, high-risk or sensitive matters to the Controller as appropriate. The Accounting Manager also helps the Controller understand the financial impact of real-time decisions to ensure the success of the business.

**Key Areas of Involvement Include**:
**Accounting Oversight and Review**:

- Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting close process while ensuring accuracy and timely results according to accounting policies.
- In conjunction with the management team, coordinates and reviews budget proposals, & discusses proposed changes with team.
- Compares performance with operating plans, standards, and reports, and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
- Coordinates the preparation of reports to government agencies as applicable
- Provides other managers and departments with information required by them to fulfill their assigned responsibilities.
- Provides advice upon request to the Directors.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining product pricing policies and guides.
- Reviews existing accounting processes to streamline and improve efficiencies.
- Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and assisting to assure proper insurance coverage.
- Serves as a liaison between the company and external accountant support.
- Works with The Fertility Partners (TFP) head office to ensure proper understanding and accounting of any new initiatives or business situations.
- Supports implementations of systems and processes as they are transitioned to the clinic.
- Builds and maintains a positive team working environment.
- Provides leadership, management, and coaching to accounting staff and patient service representatives, and provides guidance and support.
- Ensures the accounting team is appropriately staffed with capable and hardworking team members. Collaborates with HR on accounting team member recruitment, onboarding, and performance management, which could include disciplinary measures such as warnings and termination of employment.
- Assists with and resolve patient issues relating to billings and other financial matters.

**Financial Planning & Analysis**:

- Supports the TFP Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) team with gathering statistical data from the clinic, ensuring accuracy.
- Assists the TFP FP&A team in a variety of financial analysis scenarios on an ad hoc basis.
- Supports the TFP FP&A team’s analysis with detailed financial data from the accounting system and provides insight on actual financial results and comparatives against budget.

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, with a focus on Accounting and/or Finance
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) an asset
- Minimum five (5) years of accounting and financial reporting experience
- Ability to multi-task with multiple deadlines and prioritize deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to staff, senior executives, and other stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal abilities., with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization, including cross-departmentally, yet work at a consistently high level independently.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a team-oriented approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Previous experience with and knowledge of accounting and ERP systems. Experience with NetSuite is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (required)

**Experience**:

- Accounting/Finance: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (preferred)
