Midland Transport is currently seeking a **Business Continuity Planning Lead**to be based at our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. The Business Continuity Planning Lead is part of the Transformation Team and in the role will perform and coordinate business continuity, incident management, disaster recovery planning and research work. The role involves developing procedures for implementing operational resumption plans; and developing procedures for measuring maturity of the plans.

- Facilitate the development of the BCP program disciplines that address the response, recovery, restoration, and resilience needs of the entire enterprise as defined by the business impact assessment.
- Expedite the development and delivery of a consistent testing regime to drive ongoing improvement of the response, recovery and restoration strategies and plans to ensure that Midland can effectively respond, manage, and recover from major disruptions.
- Help business units identify and evaluate plans for the recovery of critical business resources.
- Develop and manage BCP program components, including program governance and program operating frameworks.
- Conduct, communicate, and maintain business continuity lifecycle planning as well as coordinate the development, review, and evaluation of risk assessment, business impact analysis and business continuity plans.
- Engage business units in business impact analysis to identify critical business resources and dependencies.
- Coordinate the enterprise's response, recovery, and restoration activities.
- Monitor events around the world, alerting internal stake holders of any risk to domestic or international transportation businesses.
- Collaborate with other BCP leads within the organization to leverage ideas and expertise.
- Ensure the Business Continuity Plan is updated and aligned to the new, modern solutions to be implemented as part of the Transformation Plan.
- Education Required: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Years of Experience Required: 3 to 5 years of business related experience in IT or Project Management.
- Experience in successfully planning, implementing, and sustaining BCP, disaster recovery and crisis management programs.
- Experience in Business process mapping and change management.
- Demonstrable experience in defining and implementing risk-based standards/frameworks/processes, and procedures for preparing and responding to disruptions in business or IT operations.
- Knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, operational risk management, and knowledge of the operations, including IT practices.
- Strong leadership skills, particularly project management, influence and relationship building, and conflict identification and resolution.
- Ability to lead within ambiguity and organize work individually and within teams.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills (ability to structure problems).
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and with external partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner while maintaining quality of work.
- Capacity to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively with high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to focus on simulating worst case scenarios with enterprise-wide impact and probability of occurrence.
