The advertised position is for a Business Development Manager, primarily based at the NGF Canada location in Guelph, ON., in the Creative Technology Business Unit. The individual will be responsible for the GLASFLAKE®, METASHINE® and subsidiary product lines for the Americas. The position will include regular travel.

**2. Principle Accountabilities**
- Existing Business
- Main market: Paint, Coating, Cosmetics, Engineering plastics, Ink etc.
- Periodic customer visits/meetings.
- Understanding customer’s demand forecast.
- Management of monthly sales.
- Utilize distributors, business partners, ensuring cohesive approach to market.
- Understand & respond to competitor activity.
- New Products Introduction
- Introduction new products and collecting evaluation results and feedback FMBU.
- Sales Strategy
- Participation in exhibitions.
- Prepare & submit technical papers.
- Determine, plan and implement sales and marketing strategies, including the leading of commercial negotiations to identify/manage appropriate sales channels and distributors to achieve business growth.
- Market Information Summary
- Make market map by industry.
- Competitors information.
- Project information update.
- Sales Budget Management
- Provide short, medium and long term market forecasts with supporting analysis and interpretation to support and provide direction for strategic market plans.
- Track progress against budget and provide regular forecast updates.
- Responsible for achieving sales budget targets.
- Management
- Manage FM sales team in NA and subordinates.
- Support for Business Development function.
- Administration
- Manage all sales administration matters including transfer pricing, stock levels, invoicing, delivery requirements and delivery costs.
- Communication
- Liaison with Commercial, Technical and Production colleagues in Japan to advise on future requirements for products in existing and new markets.
- Report
- Meeting (customer visit) report, Monthly report, Monthly sales conference call.
- Global Market Meeting.

**3. Other Requirements/Features**
- Key Technical competence required in Materials, Pigments and/or Coatings (Degree/equivalent)
- The job holder is required to be self-driven with the ability to develop bespoke solutions to issues that become apparent.
- Collaboration/reporting to Japan on a regular/periodic basis, typically weekly.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The role involves national and international travel, including travel to Japan at least once per year; and potentially more often during training.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
