The shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for all aspects of material handling in the organization, from incoming receipts to outgoing shipments to customers. They ensure the necessary material for production is available and organized. The individual picks material for work orders, customer orders and routers and records the corresponding transactions. They organize and layout the materials required for each stage of production. Additionally, they are responsible for receiving incoming quality checks, verifying and documenting arriving shipments and completing inventory adjustments. Finally, the individual prepares and packages finished goods for shipping.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Offloading incoming materials (Internal / External vendors) and inspection for damages, quality compliance and short shipments. Receive goods as per packing slip, against purchased; purchase order quantities.
- Report all damaged and/or short shipments, receiving to Team Leader Materials.
- Picking, packing and labelling orders while following appropriate procedural control elements in a timely and effective manner.
- Arrange for appropriate, cost/effective, transport of outgoing orders while ensuring the accuracy of paperwork and subsequent “Transport Guidelines” as set forth by the supervisor.
- Developing strong relationships with our freight forwarders in the various modes of transportation necessary to ship our router tables, focusing on international air/ocean, trans-border, and cost-effective transport.
- Maintains awareness of table deadlines to ensure materials required are available.
- Picks and organizes material for each stage of production.
- Completes backorder sheets daily.
- Creates new part ID’s as needed and provides receipts to the Purchasing Associate.
- Updates system and records parts used by engineering.
- Ensures the number of parts on hand matches the number of parts noted in the system.
- Checks parts received for quality.
- Advises Materials Manager and makes any necessary adjustments as needed
- Overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the Receiving / Shipping areas, including the smooth operation of same; including but not limited to warehousing maintenance, tidiness, preparation of inventory counts and use and care of all tools, forklifts and packaging materials (etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required**
- Experience in inventory control is considered an asset.
- Forklift certification is considered an asset.
- Able to manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Team Player.
- Knowledge of shipping methods is an asset.
- Proactive.

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Manufacturing: 5 years (preferred)
- Shipping & receiving: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift License (preferred)
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
