LEAD, SPECIAL PROJECTS CREW - LEDUC
JOB POSTING # 9-23
Progressive Wage Rate: $43.59 - $46.17 per hour
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Leading and assisting in the installation, construction, and maintenance of transmission regulating stations, metering facilities, odorizes, cathodic protection equipment, pipelines, and other related equipment;
- Leading and assisting with station pre-commissioning and de-commissioning;
- Performing distribution line stopping activities;
- Leading work group tail-gate meetings;
- Staking projects and coordinating with contractors and/or customers; and
- Performing all work in an environmentally responsible manner.
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Five years’ experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of a natural gas distribution system or experience considered to be equivalent by the Company;
- Valid Province of Alberta Class 1 driver's license with air endorsement is preferred;
- Ability to perform all necessary physical requirements of the position;
- Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity when using tools, equipment, and instruments;
- Ability to demonstrate good communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic;
- Proficiency working with various computer software systems including Microsoft Office suite and;
- Ability to demonstrate safe work habits and adhere to safety regulations.
During the construction season, typically May through to December, this position will be required to travel within the province of Alberta for up to three weeks at a time. In addition, this position is responsible for responding to high pressure system emergencies which may occur outside of regular scheduled hours.
