Project Coordinator

**Summary**
As a **Project Coordinator** at **Strathcona Mechanical Limited**, you will play an essential role in supporting mechanical construction projects across Alberta, reporting directly to the Project Manager. You’ll be responsible for coordinating project documentation, scheduling, communication, and safety compliance, while also helping manage smaller jobs and working closely with our PM team. This position is ideal for a driven, detail-oriented individual with a background in mechanical construction and strong communication skills.
**Qualifications**
- 2-8 years of project coordination experience in mechanical or general construction
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Google Sheets; knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent systems is an asset
- Understanding of safety documentation and compliance processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
**Scope of Work**
**Office Coordination / Project Support**
- Assist Project Managers with coordination of small jobs and larger projects
- Prepare and track RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project logs
- Update schedules, follow up with subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors
- Attend meetings and record actionable items
- Ensure smooth office-to-site communication
- Support document control including drawings, revisions, and site instructions
- Assist in tracking project milestones and cost coding/payroll review
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of project templates and tools
**Safety Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with office and site-specific safety protocols
- Safety board setup and maintenance at job sites
- Ensure Monthly, Weekly, and Daily site safety paperwork is completed and submitted
- Conduct or support Monthly Site Safety Inspections
- Coordinate with subcontractors to collect and verify safety documentation
- Participate in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
- Support safety reporting and internal communication related to site safety
**QA/QC (Quality Assurance / Control)**
- Potential to assist with or lead QA/QC review processes
- Support documentation and verification of quality standards during project execution

**Experience (Preferred but not Required)**:
- Construction Project Coordination: 2 years
- Blueprint Reading: 1 year
- Bluebeam/Procore or equivalent software: 1 year
- Mechanical (Plumbing, HVAC, Piping): 1 year
- Safety Documentation/Inspection: 1 year
