We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 15 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites. Spicers Canada is part of Central National Gottesman Inc. (CNG), a global seller and distributor of paper, pulp, packaging materials, metals and wood products.
We are currently looking for a **Full-Time Vice President, Information Technology**located in Vaughan, Ontario, reporting to the President.
**Position Summary**
Spicers Canada ULC is seeking an experienced and visionary **Vice President of Information Technology** to lead the development and execution of our enterprise technology strategy. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will play a critical role in modernizing our I.T. infrastructure and embracing innovative technologies - including AI and automation - to drive efficiency, insight, and scalability across our national distribution network.
**Your Challenge**
Under supervision of the President, the duties and responsibilities of the Vice President, Information Technology include, but are not limited to the following:
- As part of the Spicers Canada leadership team, collaborate with management to develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with corporate objectives, and prioritize technology investments according to this plan.
- As part of the CNG IT Leadership team, collaborate with other CNG companies to identify opportunities to share best practices and leverage technology skills throughout the organization and bring the best solutions to Spicers Canada.
- Lead Spicers Canada’s cyber security strategy, policies and implementation to protect data, systems, and operations
- Monitor risk and implement, document, test and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Champion the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies, including AI, machine learning, and automation, to improve business performance and efficiency.
- Explore emerging, innovative and cost saving technologies and trends.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of I.T. infrastructure, networks, and systems across all branches.
- Ensure high availability and performance of enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, BI, eCommerce, and logistics platforms.
- Develop a data strategy to enable better decision-making through real-time analytics, predictive modeling, and integrated business intelligence tools.
- Create, update and communicate annual plans and budgets.
- Build and manage a high performing IT Team with a reputation for innovation, collaboration, continuous learning and the ability to attract and retain top talent.
- Establish, develop and manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements for hardware, software and technology services.
- Partner with HR and other business leaders to implement digital tools that enhance employee experience and productivity
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place for the department to maintain overall system quality and process integrity.
- Integrate sustainability and energy-efficiency considerations into infrastructure and technology planning where possible.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Experience in the distribution, wholesale, logistics, or supply chain industry is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of implementing enterprise-level systems (ERP, CRM, BI, WMS, TMS, eComm platforms, etc.) which deliver measurable business results
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT governance.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
