**About FE Ingredients**

FE Ingredients (“FEI”) (formerly known as Far East Food Products) was founded in 1985 and has grown to be the largest food ingredient distributor to industrial bakeries and food manufacturers in Southern Ontario. Headquartered in Vaughan, FEI distributes core baking ingredients and supplies including sugar, flour, starch, oils, yeast, fillings, baking mixes and toppings. They have 150,000 square feet of warehouses at three facilities and its own fleet of delivery trucks and drivers. In addition to the core wholesale distribution business, FEI also co-packs spices and ingredients for retailers in Canada. FEI’s competitive advantage is that it is a distributor of significant scale in the GTA, with over 350 customer relationships, providing it with competitive pricing and priority on products from suppliers. Additionally, the Company benefits from route density in the GTA and its just-in-time delivery capabilities, as well as superior customer service are viewed as major differentiators.

Some of the suppliers include: Robin Hood, Tri-Blend Bakery Mixes Inc., Fleishmann’s, ADM, Brant Flour Mills Ltd., Richardson, Bunge, Spectra and Redpath.

**Role Overview**

This is an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity to join FE Ingredients’ sales team. FE is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand their market presence and drive sales growth. This individual will report to the VP, Sales and work directly with all levels of the business. The BDM will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing these relationships through the sales cycle, which includes everything from prospecting to close. **Responsibilities**

In this position, the BDM will be responsible for:

- Achieving sales growth targets and executing strategic priorities while driving collaboration within the business;
- Developing net new business and managing the account from prospect to close;
- Relationship building, direct selling, post-sales customer support, development future markets and any related sales activities that arise;
- Building and managing a rolling pipeline as defined by leadership strategy with opportunities that will close during the fiscal month/quarter/year;
- Developing sales materials;
- Identifying and leveraging effective sales channels (i.e. conferences, cold calling, referrals etc.);
- Researching markets and customers outside of our traditional core for potential new revenue opportunities;
- Staying current on market trends;
- Actively participating in leadership and prioritization discussions by providing the voice of FE’s customers and market trends.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a BDM that has:

- Proven track record of at least 2-3 years in sales roles, preferably within the food distribution industry or a related field;
- Strong experience in managing a successful sales pipelines/sales funnel and closing net new business, carrying quota;
- Results-driven, with a strong focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets;
- A relentless hunter mentality with a strategic approach to generating leads and achieving sales targets;
- A roll-up your sleeves approach with flexibility to move quickly and navigate a complex marketplace;
- Natural curiosity with a strong determination to work around obstacles;
- CRM experience with the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making and customer relationship management;
- Experience building rapport with current and prospect clients;
- Excellent communication skills, with a resilient and adaptable mindset to navigate through challenges;
- Willingness to learn new concepts;
- Takes ownership, initiative and is self-directed with excellent organization and time management abilities;
- Integrity, high energy and a sense of urgency;
- Embraces challenges and has the desire to be part of a fast-growing company;
- Flexibility to evolve alongside this role and function;
- The ability to drive, your own vehicle, valid license and a clean driver's abstract.

**Key Details**:

- Competitive base salary and commission.
- Hybrid working environment. Your time will be spent in the Richmond Hill office as well as on the road visiting clients. You must have a valid Ontario license and your own vehicle.
