Role Summary
The Finance Manager - Supply Chain is a key financial advisor and Supply Chain business partner within the finance team. The incumbent works with the Executive team, Supply Chain and US Operations Finance to support strategic and operational decision making. This role will lead the design of financial reporting processes and build analytical tools/capabilities to drive insights into cost variances and identify opportunities for improved performance. This role will manage 1 Senior Financial Analyst and will report into the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities- Works in close partnership with the Head of Supply Chain & US Operation Finance team to provide analysis and insights relating to direct material & logistic costs to Management.- Responsible for quarterly/annual transfer price updates to ensure accuracy and provide insights and commentary into variances at a brand/product and key cost component level.- Supports Revenue Growth team by providing impact of input cost changes and inflationary drivers for pricing evaluation.- Accountable for financial management of inbound/outbound freight providing analysis and reporting of monthly performance and operational drivers.- Supports the financial reporting and tracking of cost savings initiatives (Good to Great). Provides project savings estimates and helps identify cost improvement opportunities.- Liaison with Montreal plant controller to understand operational impacts to the Canadian portfolio- Accountable for the Supply Chain cost center management and reporting- Responsible for activities relating to inventory management and controls, including monitoring and oversight of inventory write downs/reserves. Provides input into Cash Conversion models and forecast.- Play a key role in the monthly forecast and annual budgeting process for Supply Chain providing analysis on all cost movements including product changes, mix, inflation, etc.- Provide support in various Supply Chain projects and strategic initiatives including network optimization, bids/tenders, capital spending, cost saving projects
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Identifies, scopes and completes special projects that streamline existing processes and captures synergies- Liaises with US Domestic organization to share best practices which help to ensure accurate, consistent, monthly and quarterly supply chain results- Ensures appropriate Internal Controls are in place and functioning effectively as they impact the accuracy of Financial Reporting for Supply Chain
Education and Experience- 5 years of financial forecasting/planning experience with demonstrated proficiency of managing a budget process (preferably within a North American supply chain model)- 5 years of experience in the CPG or adjacent industry- Possess a finance designation- Experience in a management level role with staff supervision responsibility an asset- Knowledge of BPC, Oracle, SAP, and experience working in a GDW environment are a plus
