Established in 1993, **SCIREQ and its subsidiary emka TECHNOLOGIES** are world leaders in precision laboratory instruments for preclinical research. We are looking for a results-driven **financial controller** who possesses strong organization skills and experience with multi-co ERP systems and to join our Finance and Accounting Department.

Based at our head office in Montreal, reporting to the Director of Finance and Accounting and working closely with our team of accounting technicians in Canada, France, and the US, the Controller will play a key role in the accurate recording of financial transactions and supporting informed decision-making and driving efficiencies throughout the organization.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Accounting & Financial Operations**
- Oversee and ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions (receivables and payables, payroll, etc.)
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including necessary journal entries
- Manage cash flows between our different business units
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and internal reports

**Strategic & Operational Support**
- Lead the preparation and ongoing review of budgets and forecasts
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to management
- Support operational teams with financial analysis and guidance
- Identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements

**Risk Management & Governance**
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial policies, procedures, and controls
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of financial and operational risks
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards
- Provide clear, concise financial reporting to the executive team and board as needed
- Work with external auditors to produce yearly financial statements
- Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance function

**Qualifications**:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA or equivalent designation) - **required**:

- Minimum **5 years of progressive** accounting and finance experience
- Experience working with ERP systems (**e.g., Odoo, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics**) - required
- Strong understanding of IFRS for small business and financial statement preparation
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage internal accounting policies and procedures
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Fluency in French, written and spoken
- Experience with French and US accounting standards is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a small business or R&D/manufacturing environment is **an asset**
