**What is Required for the Position**
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a procurement or buyer role, ideally within the construction or infrastructure industry
- Strong negotiation skills and supplier management experience
- Familiarity with procurement and inventory management systems (e.g., Vista, Excel, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of construction materials and equipment is a strong asset

**The Job**

The Procurement Specialist / Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end purchasing of materials, equipment, and services that support field operations and corporate functions. This role requires close coordination with site teams, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement aligned with project timelines and budgets.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Strategic Purchasing & Vendor Relations**
- Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project requirements.
- Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Track and maintain supplier performance metrics (KPIs) and enforce compliance with contractual obligations.

**Operational Procurement Support**
- Collaborate with field supervisors, project managers, and the yard team to coordinate and fulfill daily material requests.
- Review and analyze procurement requests, validate specifications, and issue purchase orders.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to resolve discrepancies, expedite orders, and ensure timely deliveries.

**Inventory & Equipment Management**
- Monitor and manage inventory levels; coordinate with the Yard Supervisor to track returns and consumables.
- Forecast procurement needs based on project timelines and anticipated demand.
- Support rental tracking and equipment logistics with project and yard teams.

**Administrative & Reporting Tasks**
- Maintain up-to-date procurement records, including POs, invoices, delivery tickets, and pricing files.
- Reconcile invoice discrepancies in coordination with accounting and vendors.
- Prepare and issue regular purchasing reports, material usage summaries, and cost analysis data.
- Coordinate asset documentation, warranty tracking, and maintenance scheduling.
