**Intermediate Estimator - Hamilton, ON**

Durisol Noise Barrier Systems is the market leader in the noise barrier and retaining wall industry. Our company designs and supplies materials for proprietary noise and retaining wall systems - including Durisol precast absorptive noise barrier panels, transparent noise barriers, fire-rated barriers, narrow footprint retaining walls and MSE retaining walls. We perform all duties associated with our jobs, including sales, engineering/design, manufacturing, and construction support. We are currently looking for an Intermediate Estimator in our Hamilton, Ontario location.

**Core Competencies**
- Fluently read, write, and communicate in English
- Analyze technical data and interpret contract drawings
- Excellent numerical and spreadsheet skills with high degree of accuracy
- Detail oriented to consistently produce quality work
- Work independently with mínimal supervision
- Efficient time management to meet deadlines of multiple bids
- Easily adapt to new work environment and procedures
- Self-motivated to continuously improve productivity

**Responsibilities**
- Review Sales RFQ sheets and scrutinize tender / RFP packages
- Identify relevant RFP technical and commercial data and risks
- Advise Sales of RFP errors and omissions relevant to scope of work
- Generate material and product take-offs
- Prepare RFQ for Engineering for preliminary design summary
- Submit RFQs to outside Vendors for purchased product and services
- Develop detailed cost estimates
- Draft preliminary scope/proposal documents
- Verify final estimate package for accuracy and completeness
- Manage and maintain working documents for back-up
- Support Sales for hand-off to Project Group at contract award
- Support Project Management with estimates for scope changes
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Graduate Civil Engineer, Engineering/Architectural Technologist or equivalent from recognized Canadian Institution.
- P.Eng. or C.E.T designation preferred
- 3 - 5 years of estimating experience, preferably in the precast concrete or construction industry
- Experience in provincial and municipal tender / bidding processes
