Job Description: Intermediate Electrical Engineer

As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will perform responsible and varied engineering assignments, requiring a comprehensive understanding of a specific engineering discipline and awareness of its reciprocal effects on other disciplines. This role involves solving problems using initiative and judgment, interpreting customer requirements, investigating design and field engineering difficulties, and coordinating work schedules. You will also consult with suppliers, contact approval agencies and clients, and participate in project planning to meet budget, schedule, and performance objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project management and supervise electrical and multi-discipline projects to meet client deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
  • Conduct technical analysis, prepare reports, and develop designs for electrical projects including lighting, power, and systems.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates and conduct technical audits of existing facilities.
  • Survey existing conditions, coordinate utility requirements, and perform site investigations and progress reviews.
  • Complete calculations and equipment selection for electrical services and distribution systems.
  • Oversee lighting design and conduct electrical systems design for building code compliance.
  • Coordinate electrical installation with other design team members.
  • Solve design and field engineering issues and interpret customer requirements.
  • Consult with suppliers, approval agencies, and clients; prepare progress reports and cost estimates.
  • Assist with various tasks and projects to support overall engineering team success.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, applied sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Professional engineering certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and methods.
  • Proficiency with engineering software (e.g., Revit, CAD).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and coordinate work schedules.
