Reporting to the Senior Manager and Clinical Lead - Psychological Services, you will oversee clinical services provided by registered and non-registered Psychological Services staff within a Family of Schools, to ensure that services are delivered in a professionally and ethically responsible manner, and in accordance with the regulations set out by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). At the same time, you will ensure that direct client-based services are provided to students and staff, including assessment, consultation, counselling/therapy, crisis response, and capacity building to promote student well-being and achievement.

As **Clinical Supervisor of Psychological Services,** you will also act in a hands-on capacity, providing direct psychological intervention to students and the controlled Act of Psychotherapy, as well as counselling and psychoeducational support and/or skills training, to improve students’ social, emotional, learning or behavioural functioning.

This is a key role within the Inclusive Student Services Department, and you will make recommendations for interventions, programming, and safety planning, provide consultation to Special Education classes, and collaborate with community-based agencies for transition planning, seeking access for students to treatment programs, and advancing advocacy for the needs of the students and their families.

Building capacity within DDSB staff, support staff, parents/guardians, and other community groups will be a top priority, as you work actively to improve the ability of staff, parents and community members to promote student safety, mental health, development, well-being and achievement.

**Qualifications**

Your profile as a qualified **Clinical Supervisor of Psychological Services** will include:

- Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Psychology Department in Applied Psychology (i.e., Clinical and/or School Psychology). Populations served must include school-aged children/adolescents and areas of competency must include (at minimum) School, and/or Clinical Psychology.
- Registration as an autonomously practising clinician (Psychologist or Psychological Associate) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
- Five (5) years of experience with school-age children, youth, and their families.
- Two (2) years of experience in best practice models of standardized assessment and diagnostic assessment.
- Two (2) years of experience with school-based consultation and/or individual/group therapy/counselling.
- Two (2) years of experience providing clinical supervision to unregistered Psychological staff, particularly Psychometrists, is preferred.
- One (1) year of experience responding to tragic/traumatic events within systems is preferred.
- One (1) year of experience with assessment of suicide and/or violence threat risk is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and practice standards/guidelines, including, but not limited to, Standards of Professional Practice of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), Personal Health Information and Protection Act (PHIPA) as well as relevant sections of the Education Act, Child and Family Services Act (CFSA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Criminal Code of Canada (CCC), Day Nurseries Act, Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), and Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
- Ability to perform the controlled Acts of communication of diagnosis and provision of Psychotherapy.
- Ability to work within the guidelines of the CPO and protect personal health information (PHI).
- Competence in administration, scoring, and interpretation of (standardized) assessment tools, integrated case formulation, preparing and writing comprehensive/integrative Psychological reports, and implementing evidence-based intervention techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
- Ability to provide clinical supervision for registered and non-registered (with CPO) psychological services staff and students/trainees.
- Competence in translating and communicating Psychological data for the purposes of educational programming and promoting student safety, mental health, and development.
- Knowledge of, and ability to follow, specialized procedures and protocols (e.g., Violence Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Behaviour Safety Plans (in Individual Education Plans), Traumatic Events Systems Response).
