Inspection Manager

Procor Limited manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. Our fleet has grown to include more than 32,000 special purpose tank and freight cars. Procor also operates 27 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers and food markets. Procor is currently seeking an Inspection Manager to join our Repair Services Business Unit at our Edmonton location.
As the Inspection Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Manager and will ensure the efficient and effective management of inspection duties in accordance with Procor’s standards, the AAR, Transport Canada, and DOT regulations. Also, you will oversee Inspectors assigned across three shifts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise inspection operations via effective coordination of your direct reports.
- Maintain the inspection schedule for completed railcars.
- Train new inspectors.
- Inspection of inbound, in process and outbound rail cars
- (AAR) Qualification of tank cars
- Non-destructive testing VT and EQCI.
- Ensuring that employees work safely and follow best practices
- Build effective working relationships with all departments and plant leadership.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Expertise
- Legally able to work in Canada
- University degree or college diploma
- A minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role
- NDT experience is required; certification preferred VT, LT, UTT, thermography and EQCI.
- Previous experience in railcar or railroad industry is an asset, as is knowledge of AAR Rules.
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of 5s techniques and practices
- Demonstrated leadership and team building experience
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
- Strong communication skills: verbal, listening and written
- Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities in support of production needs.
- Strong initiative and ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively combine interpersonal skills with strong technical acumen
