General Manager

Founder Restaurant is seeking an experienced, passionate, and professional General Manager to join our team

We are a fast-paced, casual fine-dining Restaurant and Cocktailbar in the heart of Dundas West, specializing in eclectic bistro plates, hand-crafted house cocktails, wine, beer, and a lush atmosphere. We are currently seeking a General Manager to join our leadership team as we continue to grow our business and FOH team.

We operate from Tuesday to Saturday evenings for dinner service. We have a capacity of 75 for indoor dining and 18 seats for our summer patio.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Supervising the floor and managing guest experiences during service
- Understanding of menu costing, margins and percentages for both food and beverage
- Hiring and facilitating training for new FOH team members
- Generating and managing the schedule for FOH staff
- Generating nightly, weekly, and monthly reports for labour and COGS
- Forecasting nightly sales and labour
- Managing bi-weekly payroll
- Maintain accurate employee records
- Inputting and tracking weekly expenses
- Managing bi-weekly tip pool distribution
- Assisting in scheduling and managing general restaurant maintenance (coordinating repairs, cleaning, maintenance, and managing relationships with vendors, contractors, and neighbouring businesses)

**What we're looking for**:
This role will involve serving on the floor during off peak days and managing the floor during peak days.
- Someone with the love and passion for hospitality and the experience of operating a restaurant & bar
- A self starter with a positive attitude and team mentality
- Someone who takes pride in providing outstanding guest experiences in collaboration with every member of the team
- Experience executing a casual fine-dining (or similar) service standard
- Familiarity with spaces featuring a broad dinner menu offering and a focus on craft cocktails
- Minimum two-years experience in a managerial or supervisory role
- Ability to work evenings between Tuesday and Sunday (40 hour weeks)
- Bonus: WSET, CAPS, or general experience and knowledge in wine

**Who you’ll be working with**:

- As the GM, you’ll be working closely with our Servers, Bartenders, Executive Chef, and Owners
- You’ll be responsible for performance of the the FOH team, collaborating with the bar manager, and providing support to the BOH team
- You’ll be working directly with the owners of the restaurant

**Compensation**:

- Base salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year based on experience and skillset.
- GM tip outs for all services worked (estimated = $20,000 - $25,000)
- Annual performance based bonuses (meet or surpass target = $3,500 - $5,000 additional)
- 2 weeks paid vacation
- Benefits including dental and vision

*Your tip outs and bonuses are based on sales and performance.
