**Who We Are**:
Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The Park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.

**Job Overview**:
Under the direction of the Manager of Guest Services and Special Events, the Special Events Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of public events which include ticketed, signature, and branded events. This position ensures that all of the Park’s public event needs are met during the formative and delivery stages, working collaboratively with members of volunteer committees and the employees of Heritage Park.

**Responsibilities**:
Event Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive event plans for ticketed, signature, and branded events, ensuring seamless integration of all elements—from logistics and marketing to attendee engagement—while maintaining the integrity and identity of the event’s brand or concept.
- Coordinate the implementation of licensed event programming, developing key elements and identifying necessary resources (e.g., suppliers, staff, technology) to ensure the event is delivered effectively and meets the established objectives.
- Leverage creativity to identify and implement innovative ideas that enhance and elevate events, proposing unique elements, activations, and experiences that engage attendees and add value to both internal and external events
- Actively work with the various Event Committees and employees of the Park on an ongoing basis to refine event elements, introduce new ideas, and identify the resources needed to support the events
- Work collaboratively with Volunteer Services and Special Events Coordinator to ensure that volunteer positions for assigned events are clearly communicated and that volunteer experience is to standard.
- Assists the Special Events Assistant with the scheduling of event volunteers as required, ensuring adequate staffing and understanding of expectations.
- Work with Marketing staff to develop appropriate marketing initiatives to maximize promotional and public relations opportunities
- Liaises with Catered Events for venue blocking needs and in-house meal requirements
- Identify the logístical requirements concerning the delivery of events and develops/circulates a Master Operations Plan (MOP) to advise others of their roles and responsibilities in support of the special events
- Working in conjunction with the Event Committees and supporting departments, evaluate the success of each event within a reasonable amount of time post-delivery using an existing measurement model matrix
- Collaborate with the Manager of Special Events to develop and administer budget resources for each event, ensuring effective financial administration

Event Support
- Support the Special Event Assistant with internal and cross-departmental events (e.g., Community Engagement, Fund Development) by developing detailed Master Operation Plans (MOPs), providing strategic guidance on logistics, organization, and event coordination to ensure seamless execution
- Assist with various logistics tasks as directed by the Manager of Special Events, providing support in coordinating event details, managing timelines, and ensuring all logístical components are in place for seamless event execution
- Perform other duties as required.

Organizational Excellence and Wellbeing
- Contribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park through your roles and responsibilities by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with the overall mission and vision of the Park
