**What You’ll Do - The Role (Responsibilities)**
- Site Assistance_
- Assist technicians at sites when required, including delivering parts, helping with load bank tests, and setting up or repairing equipment (e.g., radiator replacements and coolant changes).
- Follow technician directions carefully to ensure safety for yourself and others.
- Equipment Preparation and Maintenance_
- Set up trailers with appropriate load banks, cable lengths, and sizes after checking with CSS’s.
- Prepare parts and fill oil/coolant buckets for upcoming jobs, typically the afternoon before or early morning prior to scheduled work.
- Maintain fleet of rental generators for immediate dispatch readiness.
- Check trailers, cables, and load banks for damage upon return and initiate repairs, reporting any deficiencies to your manager.
- Keep waste oil and coolant areas clean and organized, and contact disposal companies for emptying full tanks.
- Field Service and Documentation_
- Complete and submit all documentation accurately, completely, and legibly during or immediately following the work assigned.
- Promptly keep scheduled appointments and notify the customer and Dispatcher/Scheduler if any delays occur.
- Account for work times daily using field service software.
- Perform selected field-based services independently, depending on your knowledge and experience.
- Fleet and Equipment Management_
- Use company vehicles responsibly, following the Company Policy on “Use of Company Vehicles.” Ensure vehicles are well maintained and report any issues to Fleet Management.
- Treat all equipment and tools with care, signing them out accordingly and reporting any damage or missing items to the appropriate person.
- Sign out all parts authorized by a parts representative.
- Health and Safety_
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and recommendations, ensuring no compromises in potentially unsafe situations.
- Wear company-subsidized “green patch” work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields/masks, and recommend any other necessary protective equipment to your supervisor.
- Ensure proper disposal of old oil, glycol, and batteries, placing them in their respective containers.
- In-House Responsibilities_
- Participate in other assigned in-house duties, such as additional warehouse cleanup and assisting with inventory.
- Building Long-Term Customer Relationships_
- Maintain strong communication with customers, informing them upon arrival and departure from the site.
- Promote the company and its products, including maintenance agreements, to new and existing customers.
- Take a proactive approach to resolving any customer complaints or disputes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the company to achieve higher standards, foster better customer relationships, and exceed company objectives.
**What You Need (Requirement)**
- 1 + years of mechanical and/or electrical experience.
- Knowledge of engines, mechanical systems or electrical would be an asset.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license - Clean driving record.
- Ability to operate large trucks, up to 1 ton and tow equipment.
- Ability to travel outside of the province and to USA if required for training.
- Willingness to attend company appointed training on equipment lines.
- Ability to pass Air-Cooled Generators and Commercial I and II training.
- Ability to pass all Generac courses up to and including Industrial.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, actively participating in the company H&S program.
- Safety Training - Participate in regular H&S training and pass related competency testing.
- In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government, be available for work.
**Working Conditions**
- Travel may be required both within and outside the province.
- After hours On-Call will be required (rotation)
- Ability to work irregular hours / overtime (7X24 service business).
- Working with lubricants, coolant, and other chemicals.
- Working on outdoor and indoor generators in all weather conditions.
- Working independently and with others.
- Working in an environment with mandatory safety requirements.
- Manual dexterity is required to achieve site and generator service access.
- Manual lifting and moving of parts and material is required.
- Must be capable of safely lifting maximum limit as set by the MOL.
- Heavy lifting and physical exertion
- Required. Lifting or moving up to 100lbs may be required.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
