Jr. Field Service Technician

**Position**:Junior Field Service Technician

**Reports to**:Field Service Manager

**Location**:Sudbury, ON

**Purpose of Role**

The Jr Field Service Technician is responsible for providing customer service and support of MEMCO manufactured Municipal Vehicles and attachments, by working to meet and exceed customer requirements, both internal and external.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Travel to customer sites in response to service call request or as required by Product Support Team Leader.
- Analyze structural, mechanical or hydraulic system issues, determine root cause and effect repairs to vehicles or attachments in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop professional and cooperative working relationships with key customer contacts and personnel.
- Identify potential continuous improvement opportunities and communicate such opportunities back through the organization.
- Record in detail all service work performed and issue Field Service Report (FSR) to Product Support Team Leader upon completion of tasks daily.
- Perform product development work and testing on tractors and attachments as assigned by Product Support Team Leader, either independently or jointly with the engineering group.
- Timely execute broad scope projects as assigned by the Product Support Team Leader, including but not limited to, preparations of technical reports, equipment and attachment manuals, field service reports, audit of customer equipment, perform service and warranty repairs as required, both internally and externally.
- Participate in training customer service personnel as required.
- Attend and participate in customer product demonstrations and site visitations as directed by Product Support Team Leader.
- Prepare technical reports, equipment and attachment manuals, audit of customer equipment.
- Perform service and warranty repairs as required.
- Prepare and submit detailed Customer Service Reports or Customer Visitation Reports as required.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- Post-secondary education in Mobile Equipment Technology or equivalent is an asset
- Currently completing Level 3, Level 4, or Test Ready for an 421A apprenticeship

Experience
- Two (2) + years of relevant experience in a Field Service role repairing electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems as required
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, hydraulic schematics and assembly drawings, electrical wiring harness and control system schematics, service manuals, operational instructions
- Must be computer literate with MS Office

**Bona fide Occupational Requirements**:

- Must be able to complete all required training
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
