We encourage all applicants to review the Guiding Values in the Student Experience Strategic Plan. **Responsibilities**: *Please note: this position is up to 24 hours per week with the minimum availability of two shifts per week. Must be willing to work days, evenings and the occasional Saturday* - The Clinic Receptionist will be responsible for providing administrative and transactional support for various individuals and processes, and will offer excellent customer service in all interactions. The incumbent will work under the direction of a supervisor, and will prepare, file and distribute documents, correspondence and other materials according to instructions and established procedures. The Receptionist will perform data entry as required and respond to general inquiries in person or by telephone. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Community College Diploma in an administrative field (preferably in Medical Office Administration) **Experience**: - 2 years' administrative experience providing customer service (within a healthcare setting preferred) Skills, Abilities & Expertise: - Welcome and receive patients in-person and over the phone, create/update patient demographics, determine the duration and type of appointment required and schedule with the appropriate health care practitioner - Demonstrate client focused services by answering inquiries and information regarding health services to clients - Provide swift, collegial and thorough resolution of customer concerns during stressful events and in emotional situations - Enter data relating to medical charts in regards to documents and faxes in a timely and organized fashion - Ensure confidentiality of all patient records with an understanding of Health Services internal Privacy Policy as well as the Personal Health Information Protection Act - Photocopying, scanning and faxing of documents, completion of student records releases - Booking appointments for Ultra Sounds, CT Scans, MRI’s etc. - Dictatyping as required - Knowledge of general office procedures - Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a positive and timely manner - Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail - Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work - Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs - Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records software - Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public - Ability to prioritize and organize a fluctuating work load - Ability to interact effectively with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community - Ability to work independently and as a member of the team to achieve department goals - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Strong keyboarding skills - Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements **Why Western?**: **Background Checks**: Please note, successful applicants may be required to produce current record check(s) (e.g. vulnerable sector, criminal record and police information) from a police service prior to commencing employment.
