**Company Description** MathClub.ca Toronto is an in-person math program located in Toronto, offering in-person math instruction for students. We focus on empowerment, confidence, and personalized learning to help students succeed in math. Our staff are experienced, fun, and patient, creating a supportive learning environment for all students. **Role Description** - This is a contract role for a Math Instructor (Tutor) to teach the MathClub.ca Math Program - The Math Instructor will be responsible for providing math tutoring to students in Grades 1-8, following a personalized curriculum - Lesson plans and worksheets will be provided for every lesson - You'll be teaching 1 - 4 students according to a weekly schedule during the school semesters - **NOTE: Travel is unpaid. You'll be travelling to the student's house to teach them weekly.** **You can expect to travel up to 45 minutes each way to and from the student's home** **Qualifications** - Passionate about working with children and "making a difference" - Experience working with kids in Grades 1-8 - Math tutoring experience in Grades 1-8 - Undergraduate or Graduate of a Mathematical major or Math/Science/Finance-related major - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to explain complex concepts slowly and patiently - Empathy in working with students - Reliable, professional and confident meeting new people **Job Types**: Part-time, Casual Pay: $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 1 - 4 per week **Benefits**: - Casual dress Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - Are you available to tutor on one or more weekdays Monday - Thursday with lessons starting between 4pm and 6pm? - Are you an undergraduate or graduate of a math / science / finance major? - Are you prepared to travel 45 minutes each way to teach a lesson?
