The Head of Total Rewards will act as a trusted advisor, partner, and inspiring leader to the organization on all aspects of employee compensation, benefits and wellness. As a member of the HR Leadership Team, this role will lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals with the ability to structure work across the team to achieve objectives.

**Reports to**: VP, Talent and Total Rewards

**Key accountabilities**:
Lead all aspects of the end-to-end annual compensation cycle (performance assessment through to payout) and ensure compensation practices and programs that support TMX’s strategic priorities

Ensure that there are transparent tools and processes around pay and promotion decisions in support of pay fairness and equity across the organization, including ensuring that TMX’s job levelling framework reflects evolving business priorities and job values

Partner with HR colleagues globally to ensure that equitable pay practices and principles are being applied at local levels

Design and deliver broad-based and sales incentive plans; provide recommendations based on analysis, market data and alignment with strategic objectives and industry practices

Lead the transformation of compensation related data, processes and analytics into Workday, as well as the design and presentation of dashboards or summary reports on key metrics

Prepare materials for presentation to TMX’s Human Resources Committee of the Board of Directors. Work with the Committee’s independent consultant to design programs and make recommendations that are aligned with competitive market practices

Design and implement employee benefit and retirement programs such as health, dental, STD, LTD, life insurance, employee assistance, wellness, employee share purchase plan, absence/time off, defined contribution and benefit plans and other related programs

Lead the annual benefits plan renewal process while developing and implementing a long-term strategy with respect to all aspects of employee wellness

Partner across the HR Team and other leaders (e.g., finance & legal) to understand business goals and collaborate on compensation recommendations and design

Lead, mentor, and develop a successful team of diverse professionals to drive standard processes and promote knowledge sharing

Build and implement a comprehensive communication & education strategy for total reward philosophy and programs

**Must haves**:
10+ years of demonstrable experience in compensation or total rewards management, including program design and execution

Deep specialized knowledge of compensation including variable incentive plans, compensation structure, and benefits program development and implementation. Solid understanding of job levelling frameworks and job evaluation methodologies with a track record of effective adoption and impact on organizations

Excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modeling ability, good judgment, independent and creative thinking with an eye for detail and accuracy

Relationship builder who enjoys collaborating with others to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes

A passionate people leader with demonstrated ability to collaborate with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization

Consulting skills to provide valuable solutions to business challenges and opportunities focusing on total rewards while remaining agile and incorporating feedback to consistently improve outcomes

**Nice to haves**:
Experience with executive compensation design is an asset
