**Bilingual Business Development Manager**

**Job Description**:

- Relationship management of existing partners (harvesting/cultivating). This role is accountable for building, maintaining and managing solid relationships with affiliates and group stakeholders in order to drive the business plan, maintain existing business and develop new business with each provincial and local affiliate. The Business Development Manager will manage these relationships through regular contact with stakeholders, providing advisory services around the insurance industry and OTIP-specific products and services.
- Accountable for seeking out and closing on new revenue opportunities in the respective territory by leveraging industry networks, established reputation, competitive intelligence, and utilizing a variety of direct sales efforts. Accountability extends across multiple products.
- Accountable for the delivery of in person and virtual education sessions focused on a number of insurance product solutions - primarily the retiree health, dental and travel product known as the “Retired Teacher Insurance Plan (RTIP)”. All groups within the assigned territory need to be covered to ensure OGC captures as much of the retired education member market possible. Delivery of sessions with other key partners is required as well.
- Leverage intelligence gained through their partner/affiliate relationships in addition to other competitive intelligence as they work with Marketing to identify, develop, monitor and execute campaigns for new and existing products and services. Support strategic initiatives and accomplish financial objectives. This includes gathering pertinent business, competitive, financial, service and operations information and forecasting requirements to assist in the preparation of an annual budget and schedule expenditures.
- Resolve product or service problems and customer complaints as required.
- Responsible to create and deliver presentations to new and endorsed groups.
- Represent the brokerage within the insurance industry.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree or a post-secondary diploma in a related field.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the property and casualty insurance industry including three years in a sales or business development role.
- Insurance industry licensing (i.e. Life license, RIBO).
- Superior verbal and written presentation and communication skills are required.
- A demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional skill set required to create and deliver group presentations.
- Superior time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently without the need of constant supervision.
- Ability to speak / read French is an asset.
