**Manager, Risk and Occupational Health and Safety**

The Manager of Risk and Occupational Health and Safety is a key member of the management
team. This highly diverse role is accountable for risk management, continuous quality
improvement, patient safety as well as the overall development, implementation and
coordination of the Occupational Health and Safety Program. Works with the leadership team
to ensure health and safety of all staff, students and volunteers; ensuring appropriate
programs, services and documentation maintained.

**QUALIFICATIONS: **

Completion of a University degree related to health care;

Completion of an Occupational Health and Safety Program is an asset;

Joint Health and Safety Committee certification, both basic and workplace specific
requirements in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, or willing to
obtain;

Minimum 3-5 years in an hospital environment;

Demonstrated ability in change management, continuous quality improvement and project
management;

Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking, ability to work collaboratively with others,
facilitation and interdisciplinary team building and problem solving;

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, board of directors,
physicians, governing bodies and community groups; and

Well-developed organizational, decision making, leadership, interpersonal, oral and written
communication skills.
