We are an Italian restaurant in Markham. Our goal is to bring innovative Italian dishes and a vibrant dining experience to the suburbs of Toronto. We mainly serve pizza and pasta in a beautiful dinning space that cater for around 70 guests.
Summary
As a server/restaurant supervisor you will help the restaurant manager in all aspects of running the restaurant on a day to day basis including training staff, inventory management and stock control, dealing with the guest complaints, coordinate with event organizers and promote event space and provide ultimate customer service to guests.
As the server/supervisor some of your key duties and responsibilities would include:
- Staff development and training
- Opening and/or closing the restaurant
- Making sure the labor budget is being met by close monitoring
- Making sure that the service standards in the restaurant are being followed
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines
- Overseeing stock levels and ordering supplies needed
- Handling customer inquiries and complaints
- Handling some paperwork
Experience and Skillset Preferred:
- Previous experience as a restaurant manager
- Excellent knowledge of all front of house positions
- Knowledge of all menu items
- Assessing guests preferences/allergies and making recommendations in regards to their choices
- Checking customer identification and confirming legal drinking age as per Smart Serve
- Running drinks and food
- Keeping the restaurant space clean and organized
- Polishing and distributing glassware and flatware
- Bus tables
- Being able to adapt and work in a very fast paced environment
- Written & oral English skills
- Teamwork skills and leadership
- Communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Commercial awareness
- Smart serve
- 2 years experience in hospitality
Beneficial attributes

- First Aid/Food Handlers Certificate
- Previous experience of opening the restaurant
- Health & safety guideline knowledge in the restaurant industry
