We envision a Muslim community that is dignified and unified through the prophetic teachings of Zakat._ **Job title** Zakat Assessments and Data Tracking Lead **Reports to** Program Manager, Community Services **Location** Remote **Job Status** Contract, 25 hours/week As the ZADT Lead, you will work with NZF’s community partners in order to ensure that beneficiaries of NZF’s Community Services are qualified to receive Zakat in a consistent, efficient, dignified, and standardized manner. You are passionate about fulfilling the fourth pillar of Islam and are dedicated to upholding the responsibility of distributing Zakat in accordance with Islamic teachings and traditions. You have a strong knowledge of Zakat as well as extensive experience as a caseworker. You have strong leadership skills and enjoy providing mentorship and guidance to large groups of people. You are innovative and creative and capable of providing out-of-the-box solutions to issues concerning Zakat eligibility assessments. You strongly believe in the power of Zakat to alleviate local poverty in the Canadian Muslim community. **Key Responsibilities**: **Training and Mentorship** - Attain exceptional and deep knowledge of NZF’s Zakat eligibility assessment procedure - Become familiarized with the Fiqh of Zakat - Deliver trainings to all incoming NZF Feeds partners - Work with new partners to assess the first 5-10 food program applicants they receive - Host follow-up sessions one month after initial trainings to discuss questions and concerns - Host refresher trainings on assessing for Zakat for existing partners on a bi-annual basis **Reporting** - Work with the Program Manager to create reporting structures for Zakat eligibility criteria - Ensure that all NZF Feeds partners are following the “two-sets-of-eyes" policy among other requirements for Zakat eligibility assessments **Standardization** **Data Collection and Tracking** - Work with the Program Manager and IT department to create data tracking system where all information regarding clients served through the food program is centralized in one location **NZF Feeds Meals and Emergency Interference** - Assess for Zakat eligibility for applicants in need of cooked meals - If a partnership is put on pause or halted all together, perform Zakat eligibility assessments temporarily in order to ensure that beneficiaries do not fall through the cracks **ADMINISTRATIVE, REPORTING & Ad Hoc** - Report on monthly targets and achievements to Program Manager - Provide quarterly updates and report on KPIs to senior leadership team - Support the development and growth of the Community Services department - Attend all team meetings and trainings as required **Qualifications/Experiences**: - In-depth knowledge of Zakat is required - Previous leadership and management experience is required - Ability to effectively speak and present in small and large audience settings is a requirement - Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work - Strong organization and multi-tasking skills - Self-driven individual with the ability to self-manage - Flexible schedule is required for evenings and weekends
