Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time **Human Resources Adviso**r to join our growing and ever-changing organization. The Human Resources Advisor develops, implements, and evaluates human resources policies, programs and procedures for a business group or set of business groups. The HR Advisor advises and coaches, managers and employees on a variety of human resources matters, ranging from complex to routine in nature, including confidential and sensitive employment matters.
The Human Resources Advisor can be based either out of Edmonton, AB (YEG) or Toronto, ON (YYZ) and some travel may be required.
**Primary Job Functions**:
The duties of the **Human Resources Advisor **include:
- Provide day-to-day professional human resources support for assigned business group(s) in the full spectrum of Human Resources functions including human resource people planning, employee relations and communications, employee training, and performance management;
- Ensure level of consistency in delivery and implementation of all company-wide HR support programs;
- Communicate and monitor Company wide HR policies within their business groups.
- Monitor and advise on business group employee retention strategies, key people metrics and conduct exit interviews;
- Assist in the management of benefits programs including the Employee and Family Assistance Program, and department disability claims for their business groups;.
- Support managers in employee matters for employees within their business group including: conducting investigations, creating and interpreting various employee reports, assisting with performance plans, providing advice regarding potential discipline or other corrective actions;
- Provide support for Company performance appraisal process within their business group including coaching and supporting managers in employee communications;.
- Coach and advise employees and management group within business group on relevant employee relations issues and interpreting company policies.
- Support implementation of all company-wide HR related programs and services including diversity and inclusion initiatives, engagement surveys, post start date onboarding, employee off boarding, and retirement programs
- Act as a liaison and/or HR representative with other business groups or departments within the Company as required;
- Provide documentation and reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, performance management, etc.) as required;
- Respond to general employee inquiries as required;
- Assist with the update of Company policies or documents as required;
- Other duties as assigned by the company from time to time.
**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:
- Bachelor Degree or HR Diploma with a minimum of four (4) years or HR generalist work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
- CHRP Certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of human resources practices and employment legislation (Canada Labour Code)
- Experience working with a Unionized workforce and working with Unions is preferred
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality on a daily basis;
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical ability;
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, multitasking, and administrative skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and activities in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment;
- Previous recruiting experience is an asset
- Previous learning and development experience is an asset
- Clear criminal record check
