**PART TIME Cook required for Long Term Care home**
Preference will be given to individuals who are certified or currently enrolled in Culinary Management, Red Seal, or Cook 1&2 from a recognized institution; and/or have successfully completed their Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health Unit and is current; 3x Covid Vaccination. Police check and TB testing required.
- _**DUTIES **_include: Prepping and preparing all meal items as outlined in 3 week cyclic menu, including texture modifications - general sanitation of cooks area
- garbage removal, light sweeping/mopping; receiving and putting away food deliveries,
- Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must have reliable transportation (no public offered)
- Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation for a variety of cultural preferences.
- Must be knowledgeable about the Long-Term Care Act
- Must be knowledgeable of special, therapeutic, and texture modified diets
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift.
- Must be able to work accurately, quickly, and safely.
- Must be an effective team player that works well with others.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively

Shifts are blend of 5:30am-1:30pm and/or 930am-530pm, plus call ins for sick/vacation, etc; every other weekend off;

**Experience**:
- cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Culinary Management; Red Seal, Cook I or II (required)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
