**Job Overview**
The Director of Care plays a pivotal role in overseeing the quality of care provided to residents in a Long Term Care Home. This leadership position requires a compassionate and experienced professional who is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, particularly those with dementia and other age-related challenges. The Director of Care will be responsible for ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing staff, and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and team members.

**Duties**
- Oversee daily operations of the care department, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
- Supervise nursing staff and caregivers, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Administer medications as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, focusing on senior care best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident health and well-being, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Provide training and ongoing education for staff on topics such as dementia care and medication administration.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in a leadership role within a Long Term Care Home environment.
- Strong background in medication administration and nursing practices.
- Experience in senior care, particularly with dementia patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and staff.
- A valid nursing license; relevant certifications in senior care will be considered an asset

Pay: $108,000.00 per year
