**The Opportunity**

The Manager Compliance will provide leadership to the compliance team to ensure that the organization complies with regulatory standards and procedures. As a part of the compliance manager's job role, the professional will be involved in developing and implementing controls and processes to monitor regulatory requirements. This role requires a “left-brained” analytical and methodical person, one who has experience in overseeing compliance processes and who takes a systemic approach to building auditable systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and manage the compliance department to achieve performance expectations and maintain the development, execution, and oversight of compliance systems
- Manage the compliance staff to ensure proper corporate governance, records, admissions and regulatory compliance required by provincial authorities
- Collaborate with the registrar, admissions, financial and education departments to ensure accurate student record documentation
- Work along side the finance department to ensure the proper administration of student drop calculations and related student aid repayment obligations
- Conduct internal sampling and audits of processes, and recommend improvement strategies for non-compliance issues occurring across the organization
- Analyze documentation and prepare reports on potential critical compliance risks
- Establishes compliance standards and designs improvements to internal control structures.
- Analyze and develop organizational compliance strategies in line with organizational objectives.
- Monitor applicable laws to ensure compliance of internal company policies/practices and recommend system changes as needed

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Accounting, Law, or Business Administration (master’s degree preferred)
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in an auditing or compliance environment
- Three (3) years experience in managing staff
- Experience in professional auditing and/or risk management practices
- Experience in collections management and communications would be an asset
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, decision-making, interpersonal, and writing/communication skills
- Experience in identifying problems and recommending solutions to complex control, financial, or technical issues
- Proficiency in records management, control theory, and the curating, execution, and monitoring of compliance tools/projects
- Proficiency in industry trends, laws/regulations, with the ability to understand best practices relevant to the business and their impact on control practices

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
