IT Installation Technician

**Summary**:
Dental IT Corporation provides end-to-end Managed IT solutions for Dental and Medical professionals in the GTA. We are looking for friendly and client-focused technicians to join our team to provide onsite support and project implementation for our clients.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Plans and prepares for installations
- Install, terminate & test low voltage, Cat 5e and Cat 6 computer network cabling, fiber optic cabling.
- Professionally organize, form, dress and label pre-terminated low voltage cabling.
- Install and terminate low voltage and computer network outlets to industry standards.
- Install cable and fire-stop material to industry standards.
- Design and install network closet and corresponding equipment configurations.
- Troubleshoots cable systems
- Install Audio Visual and Security equipment such as Speakers, TV, and Security Cameras
- Develops and maintains positive client relations.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
- Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.
- Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
- Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
- Escalate tickets (when required) to the appropriate team members
- Develop instruction documentation and knowledgebase articles
- Produce - Cabling Drawings: Creating detailed schematics that show the layout of network cables, including routes, connection points, and types of cables used
- Produce - High-Level Network Diagrams: Designing diagrams that illustrate the overall network architecture, including devices, connections, and data flow

As with many technology services, there is an expectation of availability off hours to join team rotation support for clients outside of normal working hours.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- University degree or technical college diploma preferred and/or equivalent

combination of education and experience
- Proven field service experience providing support while working with 3rd party

hardware and software vendors
- Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI), Certification in A+, MCSE, or equivalent is an asset
- Understanding of network architecture and cabling standards (e.g., EIA, BICSI, NEC, TIA)
- Experience and knowledge use of design software like AutoCAD, Visio, or specialized network diagram tools
- Ability to test and trace network cabling problems, knowledge and understanding of Fluke tester and cable toners.
- Dental software knowledge preferred
- ITIL knowledge
- Understanding & knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, Firewall, Router, Switches, Internet, Network Security, Antivirus, VPN, and Backup
- Knowledge of
- LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, SQL, Group Policies
- Hyper-V and VMWare Virtualization management
- Office 365, M365, and SQL Server management
- Windows OS (7/10/11) & PC Applications including MS Office
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
- Strong analytical, problem solving, verbal, and written communication skills
- Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential customers
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to improve customer support
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
- Willing to work overtime to meet business demands
- Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
