**Key Responsibilities**:
- Answers phone calls and responds to client and student enquiries.
- Provides support to students regarding use of client scheduling system.
- Explains, guides and monitors students who are on placement or client services rotation on processes and procedures.
- Enters new client information into client scheduling system.
- Processes payments for treatment, completes insurance claims and forms as necessary, and balances daily deposits.
- Monitors assignment of clients to students.
- Monitors inventory of dental clinic forms in reception area.
- Submits, receives and processes clients’ referrals, medical consultations and confidential documents to/from third parties; contacting the dental office, faxing or scanning forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Educational and Experience Requirements**:
- One-year certificate or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in Dental Office Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in high-volume frontline reception within the health care field; receiving payments.
- Knowledge of current dental terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of dental practice management software, records management and the Personal Health Information Protection Act 2004.
