The Social Media and Online Community Manager will be tasked with overseeing the organic social media strategy for our corporate Brick accounts, as well as individual programs for our franchise stores. Managing our brand marketing initiatives, My Brick Home catalogue and influencer/online community programs are a few other pivotal duties in this role.
The Brick is looking for a Social Media and Online Community Manager to join our Marketing team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, this position will play a key role in the execution and development of organic social media marketing and community initiatives. You will achieve success in this role if you are a creative and dynamic team player with a strong sense of urgency and superior verbal and written communication skills. You will lead our brand marketing and social media team.
**Responsibilities**:
- You will own the consumer brand's social media and content strategy, as derived from the greater brand vision and planning
- Lead the Brick social media and brand marketing team members in planning and executing organic social media content calendars. These will be in accordance with our social content pillars for The Brick corporate accounts, as well as our 67 franchise stores to increase organic reach and engagements
- Manage The Brick’s current corporate and franchise stores social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest) and any emerging platforms.
- Assist in approving franchise stores social media posts through Sprout and collaborate with individual locations on follower growth strategies
- Review and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly insights (both corporately and for franchise) and present findings to the team
- Manage the My Brick Home online catalogue, while working with external partners. Duties include creative planning, product coordination, content approvals and full execution for digital campaign and website launch
- Lead influencer, community, and brand ambassador campaigns
- Oversee boosted post strategy across various social media platforms
- Work closely with the buying team on organic content ideas to meet their current requests and help increase awareness/sales
- Assist in sports partnership campaigns to create social strategies that align with both the team and The Brick
- Dream up creative ideas for organic content and work with different production teams (photography, graphic designers, video) to bring those ideas to life.
- Attend internal and external events with a high level of professionalism both during the day, as well as outside of office hours, to capture and promote those events on social media
- Research audience preferences and discover current trends in retail to grasp future trends and act proactively
- Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers like promotions, social media contests, awareness campaigns, etc.
- Assist with studio photoshoots when needed and being comfortable on camera
- Collaborate with CSR team to understand company CSR and charitable objectives to create and coordinate with internal teams and execute for social content
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of developing and executing organic social media strategies and optimizations to increase community engagement online and to generate sales
- Exceptional writing skills with an ability to write and edit engaging content that is consistent with The Brick’s brand/voice
- Community building skills including responding to follower and user comments/messages online
- Staying up to date with the latest social media and communication trends
- Proven experience working with influencers and brand ambassadors
- Ability to set up boosted posts and analyze insights
- Approachable and innovative leader that contributes to the overall success of The Brick team
- Analytical with strong attention to detail
- Must be highly organized and can work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and employ excellent time-management skills
- Is a self-starter, able to work independently but demonstrate collaboration and a team player attitude
- Creative problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude
- Ability to work under pressure with changes and deadlines
**Education & Experience**:
- Post-secondary education with a focus on marketing, communications, or relevant workplace experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in social media, brand, or communications marketing, preferably in a leadership role
- Passion and knowledge of social media platforms, existing and emerging
- Previous experience in project man
