This position supports the work of our Y’s four regions of operation, Red Deer, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Wood Buffalo. As a member of the Marketing & Communications team and social media lead, you will support the development and reporting of our organic and paid social media tools and implementation of marketing and communications planning under the guidance of the Communications Supervisor.

**Position Responsibilities**:
- Attract and direct traffic to all our social media platforms and engage with the YMCA community through all online channels.
- Develop and curate original content and design to retain and attract more engagement while promoting the YMCA brand, story and services.
- Deliver effective and engaging communications, design and content; creating, designing, editing, and posting written, design, photo and video content to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase overall engagement, sales and donations.
- Work with a small, fast-moving and mighty team who are collectively focused on the growth and development of marketing strategies in conjunction with the organization’s strategic plans.
- Work collaboratively to develop marketing opportunities using organic and paid social media tactics.
- Monitor, investigate and respond to comments, reviews, questions and all social media engagement to build online interest and engagement.
- Lead the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.
- Manage multiple social media platforms daily for a variety of programs, services and regions including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google and YouTube.
- Assess audience needs and develop content, design and advertising strategies to meet specific needs and goals.
- Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms. Including copywriting, creative, generating, scheduling of posts and purchase of advertising.
- Create, optimize, test, evaluate and report on the progress and performance of social media campaigns; reports to management showing suggestions for improvement and results (ROI).
- Generate leads and conversions through social media marketing strategies.
- Develop and implement short and long-term marketing strategies and advertising campaigns to create and increase brand awareness.
- Provide other tactical communications support as needed, including developing print and electronic materials and writing internal and external content.
- Manage the annual social media budget.
- Additional tasks as required.

- You are experienced with online acquisition such as Google Ads and reporting tools including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, etc.
- You are experienced with a social media scheduling and listening tool such as Hootsuite or similar.
- You seek input from teammates and welcome direction and constructive criticism from others.
- You love to work collaboratively and contribute to a high performing team, but you are also a self-starter, and can work independently.
- You have excellent time management and workflow skills.
Qualifications & Education:
- Diploma or Degree in marketing, design, advertising, public relations, communications, or related fields.
- 1+ year of related social media and digital marketing experience required.
- Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics is preferred.
- Experience working with video and photo editing software is an asset.
