Site Superintendent

**The Role**
The Superintendent ensures our customer homes are completed on time, on budget, and to Excel’s quality standards.

**The Responsibilities**
- Always work safe.
- Develop positive relationships with trades and suppliers to ensure smooth field operations.
- Mentor, train and coach the Site Assistants and Laborers to ensure that the Excel way is being taught in every aspect of the job.
- Solve daily construction problems as arise.
- Perform work according to Excel quality standards.
- Provide help in ensuring trades are abiding by all regulations.
- Lead and or attend all Tool box and safety meetings.
- Maintain a clean work site and excellent working conditions.
- Solid understanding of current construction practices; strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications and project management.
- Proven ability to maintain project quality, schedule, and budget.
- Adhere to the “Excel Guarantee”, zero item occupancy completion standards and address customer concerns.
- Manage HRT to “Excel Guarantee”, and “days outstanding” standards.
- Capable of anticipating constructability issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule.
- Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained.
- Develop, maintain and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team; ensure project milestones and completion dates are met.
- Strategically plan and implement manpower levels and material quantities; ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
- Lead project meetings with consultant and trade team to support the project’s ongoing progression.
- Oversee project reporting that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information.

**Our ‘Must Haves’**
- 8 + years of Superintendent field operations experience, in a leadership capacity, working in Single-Family residential
- Expert in the Single-Family construction industry
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Safety first mentality

**Bonus Points**
- NCSO or willingness to complete
- Experience with Builder MT or other automated scheduling would be an asset
- Recognized industry training courses - for example: Soils, Built Green, LSE, Moisture Control, PHBIA
