Shanghai Construction Group Canada Corporation, based in Edmonton Alberta, specializes in infrastructure projects involving tunneling and trenchless construction methods.

We are looking for a knowledgeable, accountable, and experienced Site Superintendent to join our team. As a Site Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and successful execution of our projects. You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all construction activities while upholding our company's safety culture. Working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget, schedule, and quality requirements, with an unwavering commitment to safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee day to day operations of the job site.
- Monitor and control project progress, identify potential risks, and implement necessary mitigation measures.
- Supervise and evaluate staff; complete employee reviews; provide positive direction to motivate quality performance.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet project deadlines, with safety as a non-negotiable priority.
- Supervise Subcontractors’ activities on site.
- Ensure that all construction work is performed to the highest standard and implement necessary corrective measures.
- Willing to fill out all required paperwork with good quality as well as attend certain meetings and trainings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- The ability to efficiently assist project manager to finish required construction work within certain time frame.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Able to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Experience must include competently delivering on Superintendents tasks within the phases of the construction process from the project, startup to project closeout.
- Experience related to tunneling or underground projects are considered assets.
- Related certificates are considered assets.

**Salary**: From $45.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- construction: 5 years (preferred)
