Position Overview

The Security Manager is responsible for overall training, discipline, implementation of standing operating procedures while taking 24/7 ownership of scheduling and achieving all the directives given by the client from time to time. Maintaining the morale and welfare of the team.

Essential Job Functions
- Ensures that all services provided by staff assigned within the portfolio are delivered per the client’s wishes and best interests and in accordance with Paladin’s Code of Ethics.
- Managing emergencies effectively and responsibly.
- Ensure all security staff are fully trained and conversant with the Post Orders and Standing Operating Procedures.
- Training all new staff assigned to the site.
- Coordinate and assist with all company mandated training.
- Ensure all security staff has completed the assigned training within the first month of the employment and are fully conversant with their duties and responsibilities.
- Ensure all security officers are fully trained in writing perspective reports.
- Resolve any on-site personnel conflicts by helping conduct internal investigations.
- Be accessible to the site team to assist with emergency calls outside of work hours.
- Monitoring and providing support for the site team.
- Ensure the appropriate number of Security Guards are scheduled to maintain the security of the site on a 24/7 schedule.
- Ensure reports and returns are completed accurately and submitted on or before the dates stipulated by the Client, National Standard or the Client Services Manager.
- Ensure you have a detailed knowledge of the site National Standard and SOPs and the Post Orders.
- Have detailed operational knowledge and experience working with the site’s Fire Plan.
- Perform probation and annual evaluation of all security guards employed at your site.
- Conduct after-hours quality control checks to ensure the security guards are conducting adequate security patrols of the site.
- Ensure that the dress and deportment of all guards are consistent with the Post Orders and Paladin’s Dress regulations.
- Ensure that the Security desk has an up to date complete Occupational Health and Safety manuals

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Two years of experience in the security industry
- A minimum of Grade 12 diploma
- A minimum of 2 years in a front-line supervisory role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services
- Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and mentoring, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others
- Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work a day shift, Monday to Friday schedule with the ability to support the site where urgent situations arise after-hours
