Accounts Payable/receivable Clerk

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining appropriate financial documentation through an organized system of filing. Other responsibilities will include producing monthly accounting reports, making accurate monthly remittances, recording deposits, as well as processing payable and received cheques, assisting with annual audit working papers, and ensuring the timely and accurate invoicing and vouchering.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain an organized filing system for all appropriate documents.
- Produce accurate monthly accounting reports.
- Ensure accurate processing of monthly remittances.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Enter, match, and invoice clients.
- Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing and record systems.
- Answer customer inquiries.
- Process claims and vouchers for payments.
- Analyze all claims for accuracy.
- Act as the first line of contact with vendors regarding billing problems.
- Keep the Controller and Business Analyst informed of potential accounting and billing problems.
- Manage general accounting inbox and address items as necessary.
- Ensure that Accounts Payable invoices have been approved by authorized management prior to processing.
**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Currently studying or graduated in a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Experience performing mathematical computations accurately and swiftly.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Wage Expectation: $18-$20/hour based on experience
