The Rehabilitation Assistant is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.

As a Rehabilitation Assistant your typical day will impact the following ways:

- Following the rehabilitation and mobilization program of residents as directed by the treating physiotherapist.
- Incorporating rehabilitation routines into recreation programs as directed by Director of Resident Programming.
- Providing teaching and demonstrating methods of proper rehabilitation and exercise to residents, families and team members.
- Submitting assessments for annual Care Conferences or Individual Program Plan.
- Maintaining an inventory of equipment, tools and supplies and report malfunctioning equipment and supply needs to the Director of Resident Programming.
- Providing input into planning and evaluating rehabilitation / recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback to the Director of Resident Programming.
- Reporting and recording any concerns or changes in the resident’s functional and cognitive behaviour to the direct care team.
- Maintaining an attending roster for statistical purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Must haves:

- Grade 12 graduate.
- Recreation therapy or rehab aide degree/diploma is required.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Long Term Care.
- Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR-C.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.

- Additional training in mobilization and rehabilitation.
