**Pearson College UWC is recruiting for a Student Wellness Coordinator**
**Reporting to: Deputy Head of College - Academics **
** Position Summary: **
The Student Wellness Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating a comprehensive wellness curriculum and support strategy for students and advisors. This role involves leading the delivery of wellness programming, guiding the advising structure with support from the Dean of Students, and aligning wellness efforts with UWC values and the IB ATL skills framework. The position supports student development by identifying key areas for growth in accountability, resilience, and values-based learning in collaboration with faculty and the education leadership team.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Developing, structuring, and coordinating the delivery of a wellness curriculum delivered in plenary for all students and advisors
- Coordinating the advising program with the support of the Dean of Students
- Working with the education leadership team and faculty to help identify the learning and skills required in the student body to improve accountability and shape values, using the existing IB ATL skills framework and UWC values to do this.
- Collaborating with the Dean of Students, when necessary, in managing difficult situations to ensure effective coverage of student support
- Assisting in the development, organisation, and implementation of both an orientation programme for new and returning students and an end-of-year ‘tone setting’ programme for current students
- Identification and structuring wellness training for Advisors, House Parents and Faculty, and ensuring training is successfully completed
- Coordination of community partnerships for student wellness (Island Sexual Health, Restorative Justice Victoria, Canadian Mental Health Association, Anti-Violence Project, Critical Engagement, as examples)
- Delivery of Student Campus Climate Survey and integration of this data into enhancements to our wellness strategy
- Meeting with the Education Team and Wellness Team to ensure a coordinated approach to wellness integrated within a broader teaching and learning strategy.
- Run study sessions in the evenings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the College.
**Skills and Experience **
- A university degree with an emphasis on student development or completion of a teacher preparation program accompanied by exemplary experience in student support services.
- A minimum of three years of experience in student support, wellness coordination, educational leadership, or a related role.
- Experience in designing and implementing student wellness programs and training initiatives.
- Counselling experience within a boarding school setting and/or with a diverse student population is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) ATL skills framework and/or alignment with UWC values is an asset.
- Strong project coordination, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments with students, faculty, and external partners.
- Competence in analyzing data and integrating findings into program development
- Awareness of crisis response protocols and the ability to support students through complex situations with care and professionalism.
