The Centre for Opportunities, Respect, and Empowerment (CORE) provides community participation and day program supports for adults with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis. The program provides participants with the opportunity to develop life skills and to engage in social, recreational, and personally empowering experiences. CORE is a respected non-profit organization in the developmental sector, funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and by CORE’s not-for-profit fee-for-service program spaces.
**Working Environment**
- Full-time position with permanent employment after successful completion of a 6 month probation period

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Accounting/Bookkeeping**
- Bookkeeping, banking, and petty cash management is completed accurately and on time
- Monthly accounting such as bank reconciliation reports, month end reports, and payroll is accurate and complete
- Agency reporting responsibilities to Revenue Canada, WSIB, EHT, RRSP,GWL, tax/GST and donations are up to date
- Electronic and paper records and filing are maintained in an organized and confidential manner
- Materials are prepared for auditors as requested
- Responsibly acts as a Simply Accounting administrator
- Above duties are carried out according to CORE’s policies and procedures
**IT Support**
- Maintains scheduled I.T. routines such as backups and virus checks according to policy
- Is accessible to all CORE staff as internal I.T. support with day-to-day issues and maintaining list of issues for I.T. specialists
**General Administrative Support**
- Is accessible to all CORE staff for administrative support when required
- Answers all incoming phone calls and redirects calls as appropriate
- Communicates with staff about participant WheelTrans and other ride arrivals immediately
- Greets visitors and contractors and ensures that they follow CORE’s policies while on premises (i.e. COVID-19 PPE protocol)
- Ensures the organization is adequately stocked with necessary office supplies
- Creates and maintains appropriate administrative tools, systems, and documents
- Maintains licensing and permits as needed
- Represents CORE appropriately while interacting with external organizations, participants, caregivers, board members, and members of the general public
**Working Relationships with Other Staff Members**
