Dr. Avi Vandersluis and Dr. Maryse Lavoie are Obstetricians/Gynecologists in Barrie, ON looking to hire an organized, responsible, honest and energetic **Medical Office Administrator/Receptionist** for their shared office practice. This is a part-time permanent position that has the potential to become a full-time permanent position in the future. The job includes approximately 10-20 hours/week (flexibility is an asset) and two weeks of paid vacation per year. We are looking for the successful applicant to start as soon as possible, with two weeks of paid training at the start of his or her employment.

Duties include:

- Always greeting and registering patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Respecting patient confidentiality at all times
- Liaising with physician offices, hospitals, and medical laboratories to obtain necessary medical records and documentation prior to appointments
- Sterilizing medical equipment at the end of each day using the autoclave
- Answering the phone, confirming appointments and rescheduling as necessary, and receiving and communicating messages
- Scheduling and booking appointments in the office, in the Birthing Unit/Operating Room/Colposcopy Clinic at Royal Victoria Hospital
- Scheduling and booking diagnostic procedures and other tests
- Reviewing and updating patient information during check-in and arranging follow-up appointments during patient check-out
- Assisting patients with initial paperwork as needed
- Managing incoming and outgoing referrals, mail, faxes, and shipments
- Maintaining the office and medical supplies, materials, and equipment, and ordering supplies
- Completing daily administrative tasks in Accuro and overseeing task management
- Taking patient weight, vital signs, and medical histories and recording in chart on Accuro EMR
- Processing patient accounts receivable and payable (credit card, debit, cheque and cash payments) as needed
- Other administrative duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Responsible and organized with excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
- Warm and friendly demeanor and outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Completion of a Certified Medical Office Administration program preferred
- Experience with sterilization of medical equipment preferred
- At least 2 years experience working in a medical office preferred
- Proficiency with Accuro is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
- Experience working in an OBGYN office is an asset

**Salary**: $18-21/hour depending on experience

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
