Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional administrative support and clinical support. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability , ability to learn something new, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous clinical experience will be a plus.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor at the front desk.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date.
- Assist with the coordination of patient flow within the office, ensuring timely service and care.
- Process patient registrations and verify insurance information efficiently.
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with other administrative/clinical staff to enhance office efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is a plus but will consider all applicants.
- Familiarity with Accuro or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology is essential for effective communication.
- Experience as a medical office assistant in a medical office is advantageous but not required.
- Proficient in administrative tasks with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
