We are recruiting for a **Shop Manager** to join our team and oversee the management and maintenance of operations, equipment and personnel in our Fabrication Shop. The Shop Manager should exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem solve and devise creative solutions to problems, create and sustain relationships, while managing day to day operations of the shop.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver quality, profitable and on schedule production to meet the needs of external clients and internal operations
- Develop strong relationships with internal operations, external clients and suppliers
- Maintain exceptional standards in health and safety regulations and protocols in the shop and field
- Report on schedule, cost control and shop production to executive management
- Ensure compliance with the CEI Quality Management program
- Meet with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies
- Implement strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained
- Monitor inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed
- Perform administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders and staff schedules

**Requirements**:

- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Financial experience in projects and operations, with formal education or equivalent previous experience
- Extensive previous experience in fabrication, procurement and cost control disciplines
- Sense of urgency is critical in this role, many requests are time-sensitive and require the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Shop & field management is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Sound knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, Bluebeam
- Ability to read and interpret client supplied RFQ specifications, PFD’s and PID’s
- Working knowledge of the following codes: ASME B31.3 Process Piping, ASME B31.5 Refrigeration Piping, ASME Section VIII Division I, CSA B51, CWB Structural Codes
- Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to understand and interpret job cost reports.
- Ability to use cost-estimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids.
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Time management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects effectively
- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated and able to accommodate shifting priorities
