About the Job

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for inspecting and verifying incoming and outgoing goods at the garden centre against invoices or other documents while safely loading and unloading product from transport vehicles to and from storage areas in our warehouse and nursery yard. This position is also responsible to ensure that the warehouse and receiving areas are well-organized and maintained to operational standards. This role requires accurate record keeping, operation of a forklift, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Your Accountabilities
- Responsible for maintaining internal record-keeping system for tracking shipping and receiving variances for all inbound and outbound materials at the garden centre.
- Using the RF scanner to accurately record inventory of incoming products.
- Control and minimize shrink through adherence to loss prevention best practices.
- Packing and unpacking merchandise, unloading shipments, counting shipment inventory and claiming for damaged goods.
- Ensuring that general maintenance and housekeeping of the warehouse and receiving areas are maintained at a high standard.
- Set a positive example for compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations and assist with keeping high store standards and housekeeping while working safely.
- Operating of a forklift in accordance with the procedures and policies of the organization.
- Strive to promote the best interests of Sheridan Nurseries consistently in all aspects of the business.
- Other duties as assigned, including assisting with customer service and sales departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a strong work ethic.
- High attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, handling multiple demands, setting priorities and exhibiting strong problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience as a receiver or warehouse associate.
- Experience working in a garden centre setting and/or a knowledge of horticulture is an asset.
- Punctual and dependable, you highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
- The ability to gain certification on operating forklifts and other equipment as required.
- This role will require full-time availability and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled on a reasonable basis.
- The job requires extended periods of standing, as well as heaving lifting, bending and squatting at various times.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continuously and work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
