Flocor Inc. is subsidiary of Deschenes Group Inc. and a leader in the industrial pipe, valve and fitting distribution industry. We are searching for a Purchasing Assistant for our Delta, BC site. This position is responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to functions related to inventory management including internal and external communications to facilitate and resolve vendor/supplier inventory related issues. The position is also responsible for assisting the Buyer on a daily basis and to provide relief coverage in the absence of the Buyer.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible to communicate with warehouse personnel to review receiving reports and verify materials received, investigate and resolve receiving issues, communicates with vendors and suppliers as required/requested, completes necessary documentation and filing
- Responsible to create, review and enter purchase orders into system; monitors confirmations of purchase orders; follows up on overdue purchase orders, filing of purchase orders
- Responsible to assist with returns to supplier or restocking of material; verify customer returns and advise the Sales Department for processing of customer credit; makes necessary adjustments to inventory levels and documents as required/requested
- Responsible to purchase office supplies and stationary as required/requested, to monitor and maintain office supplies inventory
- Responsible to review and verify freight bills, communicate, investigate and document issues, generates reports as required/requested
- Responsible to participate in the Company Health and Safety Program; to undertake training as required/requested; to ensure adherence to all Health and Safety guidelines
- Responsible on a daily basis to review Accounts Payable to Purchase Order variance reports and Transfer variance reports, communicates, investigates and resolves variance issues as required/requested
- Responsible to receive and file Mill/Material Test Reports, update and distribute as required/requested
- Responsible to compile and maintain manual and computerized records and spreadsheets
- Responsible for various office related administrative/clerical duties on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; to organize and maintain branch files ensuring all documentation is filed and current
- Responsible to assist with review of customers’ orders, enter orders and data into system, performs audits of orders, liaises with sales and warehouse personnel to investigate and resolve issues
- Responsible to assist with review of customer credit and fright charges, liaise with sales, accounting and warehouse to investigate and resolve issues, releases orders on credit hold as required/requested
- Responsible on a daily basis to receive and process (sort, date stamp and distribute) incoming mail each morning, ensure proper delivery to appropriate persons and/or departments, arrange for courier pick-up and delivery as required/requested
- Assists with various clerical/administrative functions to support the operations of the Sales, Accounting, Credit and other departments as required
- Assist with warehouse physical inventory as required/requested
- Provide relief coverage to Reception as required/requested
- Prepare and generate spreadsheets and reports as required/requested
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Secondary School Diploma - preferably educational background in Purchasing/Inventory
- Minimum two (2) years experience in an inventory control/purchasing environment
- A combination of education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid organizational skills with ability to multi task and prioritize
- High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Outlook, Word), and good mathematical skills
