This role is based out of our Dartmouth office, offering the best of both worlds with a flexible hybrid work model.

**What You’ll Do**:
As a Cost Accounting Analyst, you will play a key role in:

- **Month-End Mastery**: Own the month-end closing process, analyzing and reporting on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), manufacturing, and inventory.
- **Variance Vigilance**:Keep a close eye on variances by product and production area, providing insightful reporting on production, costing, and variances.
- **Data Governance**: Maintain SAP CO Master Data Governance, ensuring accuracy and compliance for our business.
- **Inventory Integrity**: Oversee overall inventory controls and coordinate the annual cost roll for our Dartmouth-Made products.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Cost Analysis**: Analyze direct and indirect costs for precise standard cost estimates and budget proposals, ensuring our product margins shine.
- **Reporting Rockstar**: Prepare dynamic charts and graphs for month-end closing and COGS analysis, clearly communicating results to stakeholders.
- **Cost Data Development**: Create standard cost data and accurate inventory valuations aligned with accounting regulations.
- **Budget Coordinator**: Collaborate on the budget process for products and manufacturing expenses at our Dartmouth facility, contributing to a well-oiled departmental budget.
- **Cost Roll Management**:Administer the annual cost roll and communicate changes effectively for Dartmouth products.
- **Cost Center Communication**: Monitor and analyze cost center accounts related to COGS, providing vital information to decision-makers.
- **Inventory Controls**: Assess and implement financial controls for inventory in our Canadian manufacturing and distribution facilities.
- **Decision Support**: Provide critical analysis for Supply Chain, Production, and Distribution, tackling challenges like rework and inventory issues.
- **SAP Superuser**:Become the go-to expert for Inventory and Manufacturing modules in SAP, ensuring top-notch inventory control and traceability.
- **Ad Hoc Analysis**: Jump in with insightful analysis as needed, adapting to the business's evolving needs.
- **Comprehensive Reporting**: Deliver detailed reports on various aspects including month-end analysis, purchase price variances, production order variances, and more.
- **Flexibility**: Embrace other duties as they arise, with the possibility of occasional travel.

**What We’re Looking For**:
The ideal Cost Accounting Analyst is a proactive, analytical thinker with a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail. You should have:

- A bachelor’s degree in commerce/business with a focus on accounting.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- CPA certification (or working toward it) is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP and Great Plains is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and effective communication skills.
