We are looking for a Production Manager specialized in drapery to elevate our manufacturing of drapes and continue to provide the best products for our customers. The Drapery Manager must be strong strategically and operationally to drive productivity while maintaining and improving quality. He/she must also be a hands-on manager who cares about employee engagement, with experience in a people-intensive business and proven ability to mentor and develop people.

The Drapery Manager will be based in our Montreal facility, which manufactures and ships one thousand custom-made blinds and shades daily. Our 100,000 square feet plant employs more than 100 employees and services all of our showrooms, shop-at-home, and ecommerce. Through his/her integration and experience with us, the role of the Drapery Manager will expand as he/she will also have impact on the manufacturing of drapery across our other North American facilities.

**In your role, you will**:

- Set production and quality priorities, identify, document and standardize key processes to ensure production objectives are met, and establish performance matrix. _We want you to be driven and push the goals of your department and the plant_.
- Monitor the achievement of production goals and support your team to help them understand how to solve the problem at source. _We don’t want a temporary solution_
- Identify improvement opportunities, coordinate the implementation of selected projects and create tools to simplify the day-to-day work of your teams. _You will need to work closely with the maintenance and IT team to ensure that projects move quickly and that we see real permanent change_
- Lead your teams by example and by knowing the products. _We want someone who understands draperies “inside and out”._
- Work with product development team and engineers to design and elevate our drapery line by introducing new techniques and processes. _Be a true partner to R&D team._
- Work closely with HR to help maintain a harmonious climate and keep an excellent retention. _You must help drive a strong promote-from-within culture._
- Be an ambassador of change. _You need to be seen as a person who improves the conditions of the people at the plant with a human approach._

**What we're looking for**
- Experience in management and in manufacturing drapery, in a production environment. _You have done this before_
- Care for developing and mentoring people in a production environment. _You love to see people grow and be part of such growth._
- Passion for developing and implementing projects. _You enjoy putting in place new processes by working with a cross-functional team_.
- Solid interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. _We are looking for a manager who will be influential rather than bossy_
- Have an entrepreneurial and team spirit. _Everything is to be built and improved, together_
- Bilingual
