**About The Job**:
**Location**: Kitchener, Ontario
H2nanO creates advanced materials and treatment systems that make water remediation and emissions control simple and effective. We are expanding our environmental science team to support our continuing growth and to build upon our leadership in cleantech research. H2nanO is seeking a capable and ambitious environmental science and chemistry talent to contribute to work in our water treatment analytical laboratory. This role will directly support excellence in our water treatment and emissions reduction performance and further our development toward emerging environmental remediation opportunities.

**Key Roles**:
- Execute experimentation, characterization, and analysis workflow in an environmental science and materials research laboratory with high quality and safety standards.
- Develop and evaluate new analytical methodology, instrumentation, and standard operating protocols
- Establish and maintain internal analytical rigour and documentation for QA/QC
- Organize, curate, statistically analyze, and process analytical data
- Conduct lab bench activities with precision and accuracy and contribute to continuous improvement and refinement of laboratory practices.
- Contribute to technical writing and advanced data analysis for reporting to clients and technical publications.
- Lead laboratory best practices coordination across teams, and manage day-to-day lab operations activities such as maintaining lab equipment; monitoring chemical supplies, stocks and wastes; and ensuring organization of workspaces
- Work collaboratively on and off-site with project partners and research collaborators as required.
**About You**:
**Preferred Experience**:
Training in the fields of Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical and Materials Engineering including:
Bachelor of Science / Applied Science with 1+ year of relevant experience.
Environmental Science, Chemistry, Laboratory Technician or Equivalent Diploma with 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Training in a science or engineering field with specialization relevant to water treatment and/or air quality/emissions, including analytical chemistry (organic and inorganic), environmental, and materials sciences.
- Strong experimental skills and hands-on proficiency in a laboratory setting, including an aptitude for creating or maintaining equipment, and intuition for analytical precision, reproducibility, and standards/controls
- Lab or project management, including systematic approach to laboratory cleanliness, tidiness and organization
- Publication of scientific writing or contributions to technical industry reporting, which may include research articles, white papers, reporting for clients, or similar writing.
- Independent execution of high-quality scientific studies, including management of lab materials, safe practices, and continuous improvement of practices.
- Proven ability to contribute to a high-pace laboratory and research project workflow, ideally in industry research or services settings with strict timelines and results requirements.
- Experience working in industrial research and/or business settings, including in small and dynamic research teams.
- Great taste in water
