The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Performs routine fieldwork as a trainee (such as environmental sampling, assisting with calculations and operations, maintenance and inspection of equipment of client site), working under close supervision.

+ Performs routine tasks in support of project staff and handles less complex duties.

+ Working under the direction of AECOM technicians and operators to provide assistance in performing environmental operations, maintenance, and monitoring services at various field locations. Tasks may include:
+ Groundwater and surface water monitoring and sampling.

+ Pumping well inspection, monitoring, and maintenance.

+ Routine operation and maintenance tasks at water treatment facilities.

+ General housekeeping activities.

+ Work will generally be physical in nature and on an as-needed basis.

+ Work will generally be at contaminated sites. All appropriate training and personal protective equipment will be provided.

**Note**: Primary work location will be in Guelph, Ontario. If required, travel to other locations will be reimbursed at cost.

Minimum Requirements

+ High School Diploma or equivalent.

+ Able to work outdoors, often in inclement weather conditions, physically able to walk long distances in rugged terrain and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment.

+ Willing to travel within the province/country, including extended travel.

+ Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Diploma in Environmental Technology/Geological Technology or similar.

+ Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel programs and other standard office software and able to compile and interpret field and analytical data.

+ Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients.

+ Strong team player and leader, able to follow instructions and communicate well with others.

+ Problem solving, excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.

+ Self-motivated and independent work habits.

+ Ability to execute newly learned tasks.

+ Groundwater Monitoring, Drilling, Soil sampling.

+ Focus on Safety.
